5 Creative Women Who Overcame Failure To Succeed
Here are 5 women whose experiences helped them forge powerful careers later down the line and shaped the way we experience the world today.
Often when faced with failure, we’re tempted to throw in the towel. It’s not easy to bounce back wholeheartedly from any misstep in your endeavors, whether it be in a business venture, in a journey towards a healthy lifestyle, or in any other aspect of your life. But those with the courage to get back up, learn from their mistakes, and give it another go are the ones who truly have a chance towards success.
There have been many brilliant, famous women throughout history who have had to overcome many failures and obstacles before seeing the impressive achievements they have today.
For example, Oprah grew up in extreme poverty and was even fired from her first job at Baltimore’s WJZ before creating the highest-ranked talk show in Chicago.
Poet Emily Dickinson published fewer than 12 poems throughout her life, but 1,800 of her famous poems were later discovered and helped establish her as one of the most renowned poets in history.
And J.K. Rowling, who was rejected from 12 major publishing houses for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone persisted, went on to become the first author to be a billionaire through book writing.
If these inspirational women hadn’t endured despite their setbacks, we wouldn’t be blessed with their talents and creative accomplishments today. Gather strength and inspiration from their stories, and remember to always work through any frustrations you face throughout your daily lives. You can find the full infographic here.
