About Amy Phipps, Founder of Women Who Create UK
Hi! I'm Amy. Welcome to my business, Women Who Create UK.
Based in Nottingham, UK, I support women like you in building a slower, more sustainable career that brings balance, happiness and creativity. So you can do what you do best... design, make and craft!
I am passionate about building thriving communities online and in-person. Whether it’s through my work as a creative business and performance coach, or through the creative business retreat I curate, I want to help you make sales and grow your creative business into a joyful & financially sustainable career.
About my background in creative business
I'm not a newbie to the creative business scene – I’ve been working in the creative industries in one form or another for 15 years! So you could say that I've earned my crafter’s badge of honour. During this time, my own career has developed hugely – from a knitting grad designing collections for Topshop and Vanessa Redgrave, to being a creative educator and published author, to being an Etsy captain, podcaster, and creative mentor.
Mentoring is something that has featured heavily in my creative career since 2011, when I set up Super+Super with my biz bestie, Claire. It’s always been a privilege when people seek out my support, so two years ago, I decided to set up Women Who Create UK and work with women like you as my sole focus!
As well as being an experienced creative business mentor with qualifications in art therapy and many years of running my own successful craft business, I’m also a creative coach in training.
Creative business coaching
My passion is to empower women in creative business so they can jump at the chances that come their way, take action to grow their business, and embrace any challenge the world has to throw at them.
I use creative processes in my coaching sessions, focusing on increasing confidence, working towards your awesome goals, and breaking down barriers to success.
I champion women in business (like you!) and empower them through creativity and connection. Women who want a fulfilling creative career that brings happiness plus a sustainable income! From designing your next award winning crafty event simply using post it notes and marker pens, I love creating sessions that are fun, interactive and inspire your next steps in business.
Want to work with me?
I’ve written books, taught workshops, pitched myself to panels (hello, Mollie Makes Handmade Awards!), spoken about creative business on BBC R4 Woman’s Hour (huge bucket list moment) recorded podcasts, supported Etsy sellers, mentored people of all ages, Have a foundation in person centred art therapy, and lived the freelancer lifestyle for 10 years. No experience I have lived through over these past 10 years goes unused in my creative business.
As the Nottingham Etsy team captain, I have lots of experience with Etsy seller support – from reviewing people’s shops to hosting training events and working with the national Etsy HQ to lead Nottingham’s biggest independent craft market.
